Griqualand Museum
The museum of Kokstad is a National Monument. It
documents the history of the Griqua people and
of the town.
The East Griqualand Museum lies in Main Street
104 and is open during the week from 9 am to 4

St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral
The Catholic cathedral lies in Hope Street. It

Adam Kok's
Monument
The monument of the Griqua leader stands in Hope
Street next to the police station. Tel (039)

Mount Currie Nature Reserve
This
nature protection area lies 5 km north of
Kokstad on a dam. In the reserve one can go on
hikes and in summer do watersports. Adam Kok's
Laager is also situated in the reserve. In 1861,
Kok led the 2,000 Griquas together with their
